When There's No Perfect Action
When faced with a problem or injustice—like animal farming—it's common to want to fix it perfectly and completely, or to want to know the perfectly right thing to do. If we can't find a perfect solution or action, it's easy to become demotivated and depressed.
Unfortunately, life is difficult, and important problems are usually massive and complex. Perfection may not be an option right now, or at all. There may be no perfect action—no perfect solution.
I think a better question to ask is: "How can I make this situation better?" Or if we want to dream a bit bigger: "How can I improve things as much as possible?"
Because I believe that "better" is always an option available to us, and working to make things better will move you in the right direction, whether or not "perfect" is possible.
(And we can always keep "perfect" as our north star.)
